The Minschuns ski region in Val Müstair is a small yet superb destination for winter sports enthusiasts. The high altitude ski region (2,000 - 2,700 m) features three T-bar lifts that transport skiers and snowboarders to a variety of downhill runs above the treeline. Waiting times for the ski lifts are virtually non-existent and Minschuns is most popular among families with children. In October 2010, UNESCO named Val Müstair and the neighbouring Swiss National Park the ‘UNESCO Biosfera Engiadina Val Müstair’ – a special title that reflects the region’s sustainable relationship with nature. Val Müstair’s main cultural highlight is the UNESCO World Heritage listed Convent of St. John, which is one of Switzerland’s true historical gems.
